Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a Production Area Manager for the 2nd shift in Piedmont, SC. The role leads a team, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while driving lean improvements and cost control.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and manufacturing experience with a strong track record in leadership, scheduling, and cross-training. Domestic travel is occasional; bilingual Spanish is a plus. This ONSITE role supports Vermeer’s production campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with minimum one year manufacturing experience or five years manufacturing experience.
• Strong emphasis on lean and continuous improvement.
• Proven leadership and people-management abilities.
• Ability to plan staffing, cross-training, and scheduling to meet demand.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach the assigned team to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory targets.
• Oversee production, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and quality in the area to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Drive root-cause analysis for vendor, supplier, and customer issues affecting quality or delivery.
• Lead lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects to reduce cost and improve safety.
• Ensure safety and accountability, implement countermeasures to meet EHS scorecard requirements.
• Maintain required documentation for internal and external regulations.
• Support staff development and engagement to enable growth.
