Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Romeoville, IL, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I on 3rd shift (10:00pm – 6:30am).

You will inspect component parts and finished products for conformance using visual inspection and basic measuring tools, contributing to safe, reliable electrical power grid solutions. Responsibilities include final inspections, process audits, training, writing NCRs, and collaborating with Engineering and production to implement control charts, while maintaining a clean, safe work

Qualifications

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, wiring and ladder diagrams.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word and Excel; ERP experience desirable.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers and Fluke multimeter.
• Experience with small hand and power tools.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection tasks on switches and orders before shipment.
• Train production personnel in effective process control methods.
• Conduct internal process audits and report findings.
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying supervisor.
• Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
• Participate in customer inspections as needed.
• Assist in preparing and entering NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Write Customer Improvement Initiative (CII) documentation for audits and corrective actions.
• Report ISO violations to Quality Manager.
• Support prototype reviews for new products.
