The position oversees budgets, staffing, and training, enforces university policies and labor contracts, and partners with administrators and unions to address operations and emergencies.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R trade training or equivalent with 5–8 years supervising HVAC/R operations
• Valid State of Michigan vehicle operator's license; ability to drive a university vehicle
• Experience supervising maintenance crews and responding to emergencies

Responsibilities

• Oversee 2nd shift Preventative Maintenance team and skilled trades staff
• Supervise inspection and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, belts, lubrications, lighting, and safety systems
• Manage budgets, schedules, and staffing; recruit, hire, and train personnel; enforce policies and union agreements
• Coordinate with administrators, business leaders, and customers to discuss operations and staffing
• Respond to emergencies, assess problems, and drive continuous improvement in facilities operations
