Job summary

Marquette University is seeking a dedicated Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to perform PM tasks across HVAC, kitchen equipment, and related systems. Duties include startup/shutdown, inspections, and documenting conditions to guide repairs and improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, calibration of controls, and strong safety practices while working in a busy university facilities environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 3+ years in building equipment maintenance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM work orders on HVAC, kitchen equipment and other systems.
• Perform startup/shutdown and inspections; document findings in reports.
• Calibrate controls and adjust sequences of operations.
• Repair minor mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues.
• Read gauges; test water chemistry; report conditions to supervisor.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper tool storage.
