Job summary

University Housing at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to maintain and repair campus residential HVAC systems across multiple facilities. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, balancing building controls, and ensuring energy efficiency within Sandburg Halls and related housing units.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and coordinating with the Building & Grounds Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Professional HVAC trade experience or equivalent
• Ability to work in diverse environments and extreme conditions
• Proficiency with MS Office and email/internet
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Willingness to undergo forklift training within 90 days
• Must meet physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems and related equipment
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and documents activity
• Troubleshoots problems and prioritizes repair needs
• Responds to service requests within established timelines
• Develops and schedules operational work plans for staff as needed
