Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead mechanical maintenance activities on the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm, Mon-Fri) at our Kansas City plant. You will manage skilled maintenance staff, drive PM programs, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability in all mechanical systems.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in manufacturing supervision, strong hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, and experience with PM tracking and SAP.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Advanced knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics and fluid power.
A high level of knowledge/understanding of Preventive Maintenance (PM) tracking systems is required.
A technical diploma in mechanical engineering/manufacturing or equivalent experience and a thorough knowledge of skills utilized in mechanical maintenance manufacturing improvement.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge, skills, and training (preferred).
General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma.
Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with UKG/Workday and SAP systems) – high-level knowledge of computer systems/programs, especially in areas of preventive maintenance solutions/tracking.
Proficient in SAP ERP Management (preferred).

Responsibilities

Accountable for safe maintenance activities and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and health policies.
Directly supervises hourly skilled mechanical maintenance employees in plant equipment maintenance and building upkeep.
Lead shift safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety, environmental and health procedures.
Organize planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant systems.
Oversee training of maintenance employees for proper repair procedures and work instructions.
Identify and pursue development opportunities for the maintenance team in technical and soft skills.
Communicate and document employee expectations; coach, develop, and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
Apply WCM techniques to improve equipment reliability; oversee root cause analysis and countermeasures for breakdowns.
Create notifications, work orders, and purchase orders using the CMMS system.
Collaborate with maintenance leads to prioritize and complete work orders timely.
Develop PMs with the Maintenance Manager to improve reliability and maintain equipment performance records.
Maintain 5S workplace organization and ensure correct timekeeping and wage payments as per policies.
Investigate EH&S incidents and participate in audits to support EHS goals and safety initiatives.
Occasional long hours, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required.
