Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a meat processing worker for a 2nd shift in Fort Lauderdale. The role involves processing and packing meat products to order specifications using hand tools and machines, while complying with safety and sanitation rules.

Starting pay is $16 per hour and up based on experience. Candidates should have at least 1 year in food service or production, the ability to stand long periods, and tolerance for cold environments.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Experience: 1+ year experience in the food service industry or food production environment.
• Skills: Ability to stand for extended periods, up to six hours per day; ability to work in cold environments such as refrigerated storage or meat processing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Process & pack meat products to order schedule specifications either by hand or by various machines including slicer, marina tumbler, tenderizer, mixer, etc.
• Inspect, weigh & prep meats (beef, pork and/or lamb) to various specifications
• Sharpen and adjust cutting/processing equipment. Start-up and shut down equipment.
• Receive and inspect meat. Maintain proper stock levels on production line.
• Identify various product forms by sight and pack each product according to specifications
• Adhere to all company SOPs, GMPs, USDA, SQF procedures, etc.
