Job summary

Cheney Brothers in Ft Lauderdale, FL is hiring for a Meat Processing/Packaging Associate on 1st shift. Work hours are Monday–Friday, starting at 5:45am and ending around 3pm.

Pay starts at $16 per hour and increases with experience, with a focus on accuracy and safety in a refrigerated environment. Responsibilities include processing and packing meat products to order, inspecting and weighing meat, sharpening equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized production area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in food service or food production preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to six hours per day.
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments.

Responsibilities

• Process & pack meat products to order specifications, using hand tools and machines.
• Inspect, weigh & prep meats (beef, pork and/or lamb) to specifications.
• Sharpen and adjust cutting/processing equipment; start-up and shut down machinery.
• Receive and inspect meat; maintain stock levels on production line.
• Identify product forms and pack according to type, boxes, and labels.
• Adhere to SOPs, GMPs, USDA, SQF procedures and sanitation requirements.
