Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Electrical Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd shift Material Control Specialist in Huntsville, AL to support production of electrical assemblies and subassemblies. You will manage material movement, generate serial numbers, track kits, and ensure accurate WIP counts in collaboration with lab managers and team members.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in inventory or materials management, US Citizenship, and ability to obtain a Final Secret or Secret Clearance; familiarity

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of prior relevant experience in inventory or materials management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining workplace cleanliness.
• US Citizenship and ability to maintain a Final Secret or Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support production efforts by coordinating material movement in and out of labs.
• Generate serial numbers for subassemblies, organize kits, and prep parts for use.
• Escalate kit shortages or issues needed to complete builds.
• Package completed electrical assemblies for shipping and delivery.
• Track subassemblies between labs, quality inspection, stockrooms, and shipping docks to meet delivery goals.
• Document material movements in corporate quality and accounting systems.
• Use visual management standards for labeling and staging totes; ensure WIP counts are accurate.
• Assist and train lower level staff; work with cross-functional teams.
