Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks applicants for a 2nd shift entry-level operator role in Wells, ME. You will train to set up and operate NC milling and grinding machines, progressing toward certification as an operator while working with engineers and QA to ensure parts meet exact specs.

Role includes 4-10 hour nights, on-the-job training, and a clear path from trainee to certified operator in a state-of-the-art aerospace facility. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Operate NC milling/grinding machines and lathes under instruction.
• Attend training and on-the-job training to become a certified operator.
• Set up equipment from operation sheets and travelers to machine parts.
• Verify finished parts meet specifications using precision instruments.
• Maintain machines with total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, and production staff to resolve machining issues.
