Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME, seeks a trainee CNC Operator on a 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:30 PM–7:00 AM) to learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and related equipment.

You will attend a 3-week training program followed by 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training, reading operation sheets and ensuring parts meet specifications using precision instruments, with path to operator certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs.
• Perform routine production operations on weldments and assemblies.
• Verify conformance of parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines via total productive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, and production personnel to resolve machining problems.
