Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a part of RTX, offers a training-focused entry path to become a Certified Operator. The program includes a 3-week training phase followed by 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training, teaching setup and operation of NC milling/grinding machines and associated processes.

This is a 3rd shift role with 11:30pm–7:00am hours. You will learn to work from operation sheets, part travelers, and BOROPS, and to verify finished work with precision instruments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ years in manufacturing, automotive, or related trade.
• Ability to perform computations with decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
• Maintain machines by performing required TPM.
