Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Indianapolis plant on the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm, Mon-Fri). The role focuses on proactive maintenance of equipment, OEM-standard work, and continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

The technician will analyze line performance, document work in CMMS, participate in RCA and plant initiatives, and assist operators with maintenance tasks while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in an Industrial Maintenance field is required.
• 2–3 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong focus on preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CMMS and production workflow/controls systems.
• Experience with packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively perform all condition based and preventive maintenance work to OEM standards.
• Analyze line performance data and provide line improvement support based on findings and analysis.
• Understand the Theory of Operation for all pieces of equipment in area of responsibility.
• Document all work order information within Computer Maintenance Management System per best practices.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Actively participate in Plant Initiatives and Improvement teams
• Support technical training to Operators and specific training to allow them to perform basic maintenance tasks.
• Provide recommendations to spare part stocking levels.
