Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. You will maintain and repair building systems and process equipment to ensure reliable plant operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, familiarity with CMMS, and strong teamwork to support manufacturing efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical training
• 5 years accumulative experience in building maintenance and/or utility maintenance
• Strong plumbing skills preferred
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft applications and CMMS experience
• Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and technical troubleshooting abilities
• High sense of urgency and customer support
• Must be able to work extended hours

Responsibilities

• Promotes and practices safety and conducts self in accordance with safety guidelines
• Leads efforts to improve productivity and efficiency
• Operates and uses tools from hand and power tools to electrical test equipment
• Performs routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
• Diagnoses machine malfunctions by inspecting equipment and reviewing manuals
• Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems and implements fixes
• Maintains knowledge of utility systems such as compressors, boilers, chillers and water systems
• Familiar with HVAC operations and controls
• Understands mechanical power transfer systems and 480V 3-phase distribution
• Documents all work performed and hours on maintenance work orders
• All other duties as assigned
