Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS is seeking a Technician, Maintenance on the 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm, Mon-Fri). You will repair and maintain machinery, electrical components, and production equipment, following safety rules and blueprints.

The role requires a technical certificate or AA degree, plus 2 years of industry experience. Forklift operation and use of hand tools are essential; company offers profit sharing, generous PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school preferred; AA degree is highly desirable.
• 2 years’ industry experience or combination of education and experience of at least 2 years required.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to use hand tools such as hand drills and air tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules and wear PPE.
• Work overtime as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
• Dismantle devices to access/replace parts.
• Pull wires through conduit and connect/disconnect electrical equipment.
• Operate hand and power tools to perform repairs.
• Initiate purchase requisition orders for parts and machines.
• Repair electrical equipment following safety protocols and lock-out/tag-out.
• Operate welding equipment as needed.
• Operate forklift, crane, and tow motor to move materials.
• Operate pallet jacks throughout the plant.
• Read blueprints or manuals as repair guides.
• Comply with hazard communications and safety requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
