Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS is seeking a Certified Welder for the 2nd shift (3:30 pm-12 am, Monday to Friday). You will position, align, fit, and weld metal components according to drawings and tolerances.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of welding experience, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and the ability to pass Hunter’s D1.1 certification test. Overtime and sharpening your craft are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of welding experience in an industrial setting.
• Must pass Hunter’s D1.1 certification test.
• Must read a tape measure and blueprints.
• Must supply own welding helmet and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules.
• Work overtime as needed (evenings/weekends).
• Read a tape measure, scale, and square; learn to read measuring tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Weld parts to design tolerances; verify conformance.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• May train other operators.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
