Job summary

Jobot is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Northfield, MN for a 3‑month contract to hire. Pay is $30–$35 per hour on-site, with full benefits upon conversion.

The role focuses on maintaining electronics manufacturing equipment, including SMT lines, PCB assembly, and precision machinery. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of maintenance experience in electronics, strong troubleshooting skills for motors, sensors, relays, and experience with CMMS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in electronics, PCB, or precision manufacturing
• Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and assembly machinery
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, relays)
• Familiarity with SMT equipment, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, or similar preferred
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs in a high-mix manufacturing environment
• Basic PLC troubleshooting skills (inputs/outputs, fault identification) preferred
• Understanding of ESD-sensitive environments and electronics manufacturing best practices
• Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation
• Experience working with pneumatics, conveyors, and automated handling systems
• Comfortable using CMMS or maintenance tracking software
• Willingness to work 2nd shift hours and overtime as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment to minimize downtime
• Perform preventive maintenance on SMT and PCB assembly lines
• Read schematics and service manuals to diagnose faults
• Collaborate with engineering and production to implement process improvements
• Maintain proper records in CMMS and document maintenance actions
