Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift at the Hazlehurst, MS plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include recording work, stocking parts, and coordinating with managers for scheduled maintenance. Candidates should have a high school diploma (vocational cert preferred) and mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certificate preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical ability.
• Ability to read schematics/blueprints and diagnose problems with equipment.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Identify root causes of breakdowns and repair quickly to reduce downtime.
• Record and report damaged parts and order replacements.
• Maintain shop areas, tools, and inventory; keep records up to date.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads on product additions and required modifications.
• Lead or participate in improvement initiatives and test runs as needed.
• Wear PPE and uphold a zero-accident safety culture.
