Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive, maintenance, and repairs on large manufacturing equipment. The role requires reading schematics, using basic computer records, and coordinating with managers for regular maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a vocational certificate preferred, and the ability to pass internal testing. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Palestine, TX with day-one benefits and on-the-job

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational certificate in appropriate field (i.e. welding, maintenance, electrical, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to take and pass internal required testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines, including cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts machinery as necessary to ensure machines are in optimal working condition.
• Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns of machines; repair quickly and efficiently to decrease downtime for machine
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts, ordering and installing replacement parts for machines as needed
• Prepare reports documenting work performed.
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies as needed
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with department heads regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required
• Make necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required
• Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
