Job summary

KIK Consumer Products in Chicago is seeking a Mechanic Level 2 on the 2nd shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am with weekends as needed) to keep processing and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently.

In this hands-on role, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, and assist with installations and modifications while ensuring safety around bleach and chemicals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years mechanical maintenance in high-speed packaging/manufacturing.
• 2+ years mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• 2+ years basic welding experience preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, 120–480 VAC controls.
• CMMS experience recommended.
• Ability to work around chemicals and in loud environments.
• Strong communication and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery in processing and packaging.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform timely repairs.
• Operate machine-shop tools to repair parts as directed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document work orders.
• Set up, take down, and relocate equipment for new products/sizes.
• Diagnose and repair basic electrical issues; escalate PLC problems.
• Respond to breakdowns with safety and PPE adherence.
