Job summary

U.S. Pipe is seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist for our Bessemer, AL location. The role involves setting up and operating various machine tools to produce precision parts for heavy industrial manufacturing. You will interpret drawings, select tools, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Candidates should have a strong grasp of machining principles, be able to read blueprints, understand CNC processes, and maintain a safe, organized work area. High school diploma or GED required; CNC preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree preferred with focus as a Machinist (CNC preferred).
• Certified Machinist strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine tools to drill, face, turn, bore, mill or shape parts to precise tolerances and finishes.
• Interpret drawings and layouts; plan working procedures and check dimensions with gauges and micrometers.
• Assemble, align, level and adjust machinery and equipment; maintain clean, safe work area.
