Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton is seeking a 2nd shift Supervisor of Logistics to support warehouse and buffer storage for Submarine Programs. The role will supervise up to 20 union-represented employees at Groton and offsite sites including North Stonington, Norwich and Plainfield.

Primary duties include establishing quality standards, ensuring material marking and protection, timely receipt/issue, robust kitting, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in supply chain, logistics and/or material management
• Ability to travel between Groton-based sites (Groton, Eagle Park, Norwich, Plainfield)
• Secret or higher DOD clearance or ability to obtain
• Flexibility to work 2nd shift as needed
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Set goals to achieve high quality workmanship, safety and process improvements
• Ensure materials are properly marked and protected per specs
• Support timely receipt, issue and robust kitting processes
• Oversee cycle counts and inventory accuracy targets (≥95%)
• Manage FIFO for hazardous materials and shelf-life items
• Organize material and assign work cost-effectively
• Provide timely customer service and support to all customers
• Evaluate personnel and apply discipline when required
• Lead technology enhancement projects (software modernization, handheld devices)
