Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat, a leader in submarine design and construction, is seeking an energetic Structural Operations Supervisor to lead daily production and coordinate a multi-trade crew on 2nd shift at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

You will supervise assignments, drive safety and quality, and partner with other supervisors to achieve on-time delivery and cost objectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years related Electric Boat experience.
• 1 year Electric Boat experience combined with a related Engineering degree.
• 3 years combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting.
• Available to work all shifts, including extended hours, weekends or holidays as business needs dictate.
• Possess strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily assignments and overall coordination of employees to ensure maximum performance, efficiency and quality of functions.
• Ability to effectively organize and assign work to hourly employees such that safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are met.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and reduce work order span times; streamline work processes and collaborate with other Supervisors to ensure first time quality on time.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisors.
• Set, assign, and measure daily production goals; mentor, motivate, and hold crew members accountable.
