Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, is seeking a 2nd shift Manufacturing Engineer to develop build strategies, methods, and fixtures for submarine fabrication and assembly. You will interface with trades, designers, and vendors across VIRGINIA Class, Overhaul/Repair, and COLUMBIA Class projects.

The role requires a BS or higher in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Manufacturing or Marine engineering, 0–5 years of experience, and the ability to travel between Groton and Quonset Point.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Marine engineering.
• 0-5 years engineering experience.
• This is a 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools and fixtures for submarine fabrication and assembly.
• Prepare Manufacturing Engineering procedures for sequence and alignment of critical installations.
• Deckplate construction support and coordination with trades, designers and vendors.
