Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Operations Supervisor - Sheetmetal for the North Kingstown, RI area. The role focuses on coordinating daily sheetmetal operations, directing hourly staff, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The position supports a SECOND SHIFT schedule in Quonset Point facility. Responsibilities include setting daily production goals, mentoring crew, and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience at Electric Boat or 3+ years combined leadership experience.
• Experience with ATA and ERS.
• Availability to work all shifts, including extended hours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily assignments and oversee hourly employees to optimize safety, quality, schedule and cost.
• Organize and assign work to meet production goals and mentor crew members.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce work order span times and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure first-time quality on time.
• Support process improvement projects and review production methods and capabilities.
• Communicate effectively with subordinates and supervisors.
