Job summary

Liberty Diversified International in Rock Island, IL seeks a full-time Machine Operator I to safely produce quality corrugated products. You will set up orders, perform quality checks, and help lead your crew to maximize efficiency, while maintaining safety and clean working areas.

Reporting to a Production Supervisor, you will work in a small team, assist with equipment maintenance, and train Assistant Operators as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 3+ years in a manufacturing environment OR 4+ years of manufacturing experience in lieu of education.
• Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch.
• Computer skills including typing, printing, and data entry.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine by setting up orders according to customer specifications, following the order readiness process.
• Perform quality checks by inspecting first article and articles throughout the order to ensure quality products and monitor equipment/materials.
• Enter production metrics into a computer system to track production rates, quality, maintenance and downtime.
• Proactively communicate equipment issues to leaders, troubleshoot and solve problems to maximize efficiency.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Machine Operators as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs to equipment with maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following post order cleaning processes.
• Follow plant safety processes and procedures for the machine center.
• Other duties, as assigned.
