Job summary

Liberty Diversified International’s Liberty Packaging unit in Rock Island, IL, is seeking a Machine Operator II to contribute to safe production of high-quality corrugated products. You’ll lead in your crew to maximize efficiency by correctly setting up orders, performing quality checks, and communicating issues.

The role reports to a Production Supervisor at the Rock Island facility. It requires 3+ years in manufacturing or 4+ years as equivalent experience, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 3+ years manufacturing experience, or 4+ years manufacturing experience in lieu of education.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".
• Computer skills: typing, printing, data entry.
• Basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine by setting up orders per customer specs and prepare tools.
• Perform quality checks on first articles and in-process items.
• Enter production metrics into the system to track progress, quality, and downtime.
• Communicate equipment issues to leaders and assist with troubleshooting.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Machine Operators as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs in partnership with maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following post-order cleaning.
• Follow plant safety processes for the machine center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
