Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift at our Wichita, KS facility. You will lead hourly production employees, ensure safety and quality standards, and drive efficiency improvements.

The role requires strong communication, coaching abilities, and a focus on cost control. The supervisor will monitor yields, manage line performance, and participate in ongoing training and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field plus 2+ years of experience.
• Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring staff.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production operations on the shift, ensuring safety and USDA health standards.
• Lead the training and coaching of hourly employees and conduct monthly line meetings.
• Track yields, efficiency, and variances; drive improvements to reduce downtime and costs.
• Guide and communicate with the team to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
• Oversee equipment setup and routine maintenance to ensure peak performance.
