Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. is hiring a 2nd shift Electrical Maintenance Mechanic in Streator, IL. Starting wage is $44.57/hr. You will install, maintain, and repair fabrication, machining, welding, and material handling equipment, and support plant infrastructure.

Responsibilities include electrical service, pipe fitting, hazard waste handling, and facility upkeep. A valid driver’s license, ability to work at heights up to 40 feet, and reading blueprints are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing plant maintenance role.
• Thorough understanding of 480V wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, welding, and cutting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to read blueprints.
• Able to work at heights up to 40 feet and in confined spaces.
• Able to read hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fabrication, machining, welding, material handling, and assembly equipment.
• Install and maintain 480, 220, and 100 branch electrical service.
• Pipe fitting (gas, water, air, sprinkler system).
• Maintain and repair the facility and a clean, safe work area.
• Must be willing to do emergency callouts.
• Complete an Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training.
• Know hazardous waste handling and labeling; respond to spills per management.
• Inspect hazardous waste accumulation areas and maintain proper storage.
• Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprints.
