Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Streator, IL, seeks a skilled maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair fabrication, machining, welding, and material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.

You will also install electrical service, pipe fittings, and perform facility maintenance while upholding a clean, safe work area and responding to emergency callouts. A HS diploma and 2+ years’ plant maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing plant maintenance position.
• Thorough understanding of 480 wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
• Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, welding, cutting.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work at heights of 40 feet.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical blue prints.
• Must pass a written & hands on electrical test.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fabrication, machining, welding, material handling, and assembly equipment.
• Install and maintain 480, 220, and 100 branch electrical service.
• Pipe fitting (gas, water, air, sprinkler system).
• Maintain and repair the facility.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Must be willing to do emergency callout.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Complete an Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training
