Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Dockmaster for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm-11:30pm) to lead dock activities and ensure safe, efficient movement of trailers. You will coordinate loading/unloading, supervise dock operations, and partner with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to meet daily priorities.

This hands-on role requires warehouse experience, strong communication, and the ability to follow safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and equipment use.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities to support daily priorities.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow; ensure safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe situations.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders and maintain customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and SWIs; complete tasks.
• Support dock/yard organization following 7S principles.
• Conduct regular visual inspections to identify risks and delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google tools to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and Lead peers as needed.
