Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster to oversee dock operations on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 4:00pm-12:30am). You will be the primary contact for dock activities, coordinating trailer movements and yard flow while modeling accountability and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment.
• Coordinate trailer movements and loading/unloading dock activities.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow per safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe situations.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, and customer teams daily.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders and maintain customer service.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines, standards, and SWIs.
• Support dock/yard organization following 7S standards.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365/Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers.
