Job summary

O’Neal Steel has an open position for a District Operations Specialist (2nd shift) at our Birmingham, AL facility. This role supports district operations with daily tasks including receiving, inventory control, shop floor control, documentation, and sales/supply chain communications.

Responsibilities include verifying shipments, routing goods, maintaining inventory locations, and coordinating with the commercial team. Must work 2nd shift (10:00AM-6:30PM) with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of warehouse operations experience.
• Ability to use the Microsoft Suite of products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to perform in high pace environments and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of incoming shipments against bill of ladings and maintain records of goods received.
• Receive inbound shuttles and route incoming goods to proper bays.
• Monitor receiving reports to ensure accuracy and coordination with purchased material.
• Maintain and update inventory locations and pick zones.
• Perform stock checks: quantities, dimensions, condition, and foreign vs. domestic.
• Investigate and resolve inventory issues, markdowns, or other discrepancies.
