Job summary

O’Neal Steel LLC is seeking an Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift) for its Shelbyville, IN facility. You will oversee the processing, loading, and shipping of orders, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while liaising between hourly staff and management.

The role emphasizes lean improvements, cross-training, and adherence to budgets and policies. The position requires at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a steel/service center environment, strong Excel skills, and a valid

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in steel/service center or similar environment.
Strong Lean Manufacturing principles experience.
Experience with safety training and compliance.
Experience with truck scheduling and routing.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general Office tools.
Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Supervise warehouse and delivery employees, set schedules, supervise payroll and productivity strategies.
Ensure personnel have training, work instructions, and tools to perform duties.
Coordinate and execute the production work schedule.
Develop cross-training opportunities for employees.
Supervise shop activities to meet quality standards.
Allocate overtime to meet delivery dates and manage staffing.
Apply lean principles to improve processes and procedures.
Monitor budgets and performance against goals.
Support maintenance planning to maximize asset uptime.
