Job summary

O’Neal Steel in Shelbyville, IN is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the 2nd shift to oversee processing, loading and shipping to meet quality and delivery standards. You will liaise between hourly staff and management, driving lean improvements while controlling costs and safety programs.

The role requires at least 3 years of supervisory experience in metal processing or a related warehouse environment, strong Excel skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in supervisory or leadership roles in steel/mfg or warehouse.
• Strong steel processing and service center experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with safety training, truck scheduling, and routing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse and delivery staff, set schedules and manage payroll.
• Ensure training, work instructions and tools for duties.
• Coordinate and execute the production work schedule.
• Develop cross-training opportunities for employees.
• Maintain quality standards on manufactured products.
• Assign daily work and overtime to meet delivery dates.
• Apply Lean principles to improve processes.
• Monitor budgets and staffing to meet goals.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with the Maintenance Department.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping improvements.
