Job summary

O’Neal Steel is seeking an Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift) for our Shelbyville, IN facility. You will supervise processing, loading and shipping of orders, ensuring quality and on-time delivery while adhering to safety and cost standards.

As the first-line liaison between hourly staff and management, you will drive Lean initiatives, manage schedules, training, and staffing, and monitor KPI targets. A 3+ year supervisory background in steel or metal processing and strong Excel skills are

Qualifications

• 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in steel service center or similar environment.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and application.
• Experience with safety training, truck scheduling and routing.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse and delivery employees, including schedules, performance and payroll.
• Ensure personnel have training and tools to perform duties.
• Coordinate and execute production work schedule.
• Develop cross-training opportunities for employees.
• Supervise shop activities to meet quality standards and delivery dates.
• Apply lean principles to improve processes and procedures.
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust to meet goals.
• Support maintenance planning to maximize asset uptime.
