Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a CNC Operator to run single or multi-spindle CNC drilling machines, following drawings and procedures to produce parts for aerospace and industrial applications.

The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting with precision gauges, and performing basic machine setup. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, CNC certification is a plus, and prior machining experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and work instructions in English.
• Use precision measuring instruments and gauges (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
• Understand 5S, preventative maintenance, first-piece verification, and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce parts per drawings, specs, and quality standards.
• Read blueprints and perform first-piece and in-process inspections with precision gauges.
• Perform tool setup, tooling offsets, and speeds/feeds.
• Maintain tooling and gauges and complete production and quality documentation.
• Support production, communicate issues to Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Participate in continuous improvement and 5S activities and uphold safety policies.
