Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Tech I to set up and operate production machines, perform light bench and assembly tasks, and maintain quality standards on the shop floor.

You will read gauges, use precision instruments, assist in machine setups, and contribute to a safe, productive environment. Requires basic shop math, good communication, and ability to lift up to 30 lbs; US work authorization is required with no visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Export-controlled data access; eligibility required.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate standard and specialized machines.
• Assist in machine setup according to work order and procedures.
• Learn setup and operation of new machines added to the department.
• Check parts with gauges or precision instruments and submit for inspection.
• Operate machines to ensure proper function and release parts per specs.
• Perform SPC Charting as required.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and orderly daily.
• Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math.
