Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Program Supervisor for the 24/7 men's shelter, leading Shelter Monitors and coordinating day-to-day operations. You will ensure safety and service quality for around 250 clients per shift.

The role calls for a High School diploma, at least 2 years in direct homeless service, and 3 years of supervisory experience with 5+ subordinates. On-site schedule Tue–Sat, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a strong emphasis on supervision and training.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 2 years of direct service experience working with the adult homeless or other vulnerable population.
• 3 years of both administrative and functional supervision experience of at least 5 subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Functionally supervise a team of Shelter Monitors on an 8-hour shift in a 24/7 adult men's shelter serving ~250 clients per shift.
• Create work schedules and assign tasks to keep the facility staffed at all times.
• Observe rounds, coach staff, and document observations in end-of-shift reports.
• Monitor staff check-ins every two hours and note discrepancies or coaching needs.
• Liaise with Agency partners to support shelter operations and safety.
• Submit comprehensive end-of-shift reports to the Operations Manager with incidents and discrepancies.
• Oversee performance, coach, and take corrective action as required.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff with HR approvals and packets.
