Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Residential Coordinator to provide essential 24-hour awake coverage at our 50-bed shelter serving single adults. You will be the first point of contact for client needs and help maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment.

The role focuses on crisis intervention, front desk operations, and coordinating with Case Managers to support client service plans. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in human services, homelessness, or related fields.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe functioning of the shelter and a supportive environment.
• Monitor front desk operations, visitor check-in, and inquiries.
• Conduct regular rounds and monitor building and grounds.
• Maintain the daily shelter log documenting interactions and incidents.
• Work with Case Managers to support client service plans.
• Complete shift exchanges to maintain continuity of services.
• Ensure shelter documentation adheres to agency policies.
• Assist with basic shelter needs and BED supplies distribution.
• Perform cleaning duties and restock supplies.
• Organize donations and maintenance tasks.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings as directed.
