Job summary

City of Montgomery seeks an Emergency Communications Dispatcher to process emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch responders using CAD and land mobile radio networks. You will answer calls, provide pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions, and coordinate with fire and police units; learn to dispatch radio systems for public safety operations.

Candidates must meet minimum qualifications, be willing to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and pass background

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of medical, fire, or police dispatch experience, or one year with CAD in a public safety setting.
• Qualifying education, training, and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and administrative calls and dispatch responders.
• Provide pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions as warranted.
• Dispatch fire and police units using CAD and radio networks.
• Learn to dispatch radio systems for public safety operations.
• Work under the Emergency Communications Supervisor and support 24/7 operations.
