Job summary

You will triage emergency calls, notify responders, and provide routine information through phone and chat, directing calls to the appropriate locations and handling after-hours help desk tasks. The role requires strong customer service, experience with scheduling systems, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience.
• Two years of experience using electronic scheduling systems or calendars.
• Experience with answering service, high volume call center, phone customer service, or web chat.
• Hospital or healthcare experience with medical terminology.
• Experience with local, national, and international dialing rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service as the answering service for medical providers and offices.
• Handle calls forwarded to the answering service and document demographics and caller contact information.
• Review schedules and route messages to the correct provider based on condition and time of day.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to dispatch patient transport and manage transport priorities.
• Communicate codes, emergencies, and dispatch to appropriate responders per scripting and protocol.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and operate call center equipment and systems.
• Perform miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
