Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management Inc. seeks a Power Plant Operator for the Safe Harbor Hydro-Electric Generating Station in Conestoga, PA. The PPO will supervise 24/7 operations, perform high voltage switching and operate water treatment facilities to meet state standards.

The role requires shift work, strong safety practices, and coordination with Control Center, water managers, and transmission partners.

Qualifications

Read electrical, hydraulic and mechanical prints to support operation.
Must be able to communicate clearly with teams and external partners.
Experience or familiarity with hydro-electric dam operations is preferred.
Maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate the 24/7 hydro station with rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays.
Perform safe operation and switching of generators, transformers and control systems.
Manage high voltage switching and coordinate with Control Center and external entities.
Ensure compliance with PJM, NERC, DEP, and OSHA requirements and maintain logs.
Operate Filtered Water and Wastewater plants to meet quality standards.
Conduct daily inspections and respond to alarms; implement Lock Out/Tag Out as needed.
Maintain licenses for the operation of water treatment facilities and assist with lab samples.
