Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication skills with discretion per HIPAA guidelines.
• Ability to stay calm, prioritize, and respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Experience with multiple communication systems (switchboard, paging, radios) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and respond to multiple incoming calls, emergencies, and urgent requests.
• Handle all hospital calls, including in-house extensions and patient rooms.
• Perform in-house paging, code alerts, overhead announcements, and dial-a-page functions.
• Coordinate with hospital staff, emergency responders, and security to ensure timely communication.
• Maintain switchboard records, including patient room assignments and admissions/discharges.
• Update disaster procedure files and emergency contact lists.
• Operate multiple communication systems and maintain detailed call logs.
