Community Health Systems in Knoxville, TN is seeking a part-time Switchboard Operator to manage incoming and outgoing calls, provide routine information, and dispatch calls to departments with professionalism.

The role supports paging, emergency communications, and accurate information delivery to patients, staff, providers, and external customers. This position requires weekend coverage (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and a focus on courtesy, reliability, and effective communication.

Formación

• Experience: 0-2 years in customer service, call center, or healthcare setting required.
• 1-2 years of switchboard experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Answer all incoming calls promptly and route to appropriate department or individual.
• Page and notify employees, providers, and rapid response teams during emergencies.
• Provide accurate assistance to patients, employees, and external customers.
• Transfer calls to the proper extension to ensure seamless communication.
• Coordinate emergency codes and disasters with on-call and rapid response staff.
• Screen and verify demographic information and organize paperwork including inpatient documentation for the Business Office.
• Provide instructions to patients for accessing external operators for long-distance calls.
• Maintain detailed records of all pages, notifications, and calls per facility protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
