Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a Facility Control Operator based in Lithia Springs, GA. The role involves supporting, operating, and maintaining facilities, equipment, and related systems while delivering high customer satisfaction.

The position requires working evenings and weekends, with the ability to respond to statewide infrastructure alarms 24/7. Travel up to 25% to other Metro Atlanta Power facilities may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification in building management discipline – HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
• 6+ years’ building maintenance experience.
• Electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing licenses highly desired.
• Previous work experience with key mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• High level of understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other building systems.
• Previous educational training and work experience regarding general maintenance processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Always maintain a safety-first approach.
• This position requires extensive field time working with employees, contractors, and customers to ensure facilities and their systems are maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
• Respond to state-wide infrastructure alarms on a 24x7 basis and coordinate remote monitoring installations.
• Plan and implement maintenance programs for assigned area and maintain key assets.
• Inspect premises regularly to determine repair and maintenance needs and respond to work orders.
• Coordinate and direct activities with vendors for preventive and corrective maintenance of systems.
• Manage contractor performance to ensure compliance with bid documents and contracts.
