Job summary

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) seeks a Physical Security Operator to monitor, respond to, and administer security systems protecting facilities supporting Georgia's electric grid.

This role operates in a 24x7 technology control center with exposure to physical security, IT networking, and cyber operations, handling alarm responses, access management, and incident reporting to maintain secure infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Flexibility for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24x7 ops environment.
• Experience maintaining documented, auditable logs of security-related activities.
• Ability to obtain Bulk Electric System Cyber Authorized Status per GSOC policy and CIP-004.
• Strong communication with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor physical security alarm systems, surveillance, notification, life-safety systems, and related tech.
• Perform walkdowns to support monitoring and response activities.
• Escalate security events with internal staff and law enforcement as needed.
• Track and report security activity; maintain auditable logs.
