Job summary

Georgia Power, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Facility Control Operator in Lithia Springs, GA. The role supports, operates and maintains facilities and related systems, delivering high customer satisfaction while performing reactive and preventive maintenance.

The position requires a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. It may involve evening and weekend work and travel up to 25% to other Metro Atlanta Power facilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of building maintenance experience.
• Certification in building management discipline – HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
• Electrical, mechanical and/or plumbing licenses highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).
• Ability to respond to alarms and emergencies 24x7.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate facilities and their systems with a safety-first approach.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with vendors.
• Respond to state-wide infrastructure alarms on a 24x7 basis.
• Install and service remote monitoring equipment for infrastructure systems.
• Plan and implement maintenance programs for assigned areas.
• Receive and respond to MEP work orders and manage contractor performance.
• Maintain training and licenses as required.
• Be able to work evenings and weekends.
• Lift up to 60 lbs and climb heights as needed.
