County Emergency Communications seeks Emergency Medical Dispatchers in Deloit, IA to handle urgent medical calls and coordinate responder resources. You will confirm locations, priorities, and access details, while following approved dispatch protocols and oversight requirements.

Required are a high school diploma and EMS dispatcher certification; CPR and related coursework may be required. Overnight and rotating shifts are common in this role, with overtime as needed.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Sponsored training or Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required.
• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
