Job summary

Regional 911 Intake Solutions is seeking dedicated 911 Call Takers to screen emergency calls, confirm locations, gather essential details, and relay information to dispatch teams. You’ll use approved questions, document incidents in call-processing systems, and follow strict procedures while remaining calm under pressure.

Most positions require a high school diploma or equivalent. Training and certification will be provided, with shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some vacancies accept without dispatch experience.
• Strong listening, typing, and clear verbal communication are essential.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and use approved questions.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller's callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify nature and urgency of the situation.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the dispatch function.
• Assist distressed callers with essential questions and instructions.
• Use language-access resources when needed.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions only within training and certification.
